Artowood (Thailand) Co,.Ltd is the first and largest wood-plastic composite (WPC) research and manufacturing facility in Thailand. Mr Thanadon Sattabongkot, a renowned university lecturer, pioneered WPC research, developed and patented Artowood®. For his contribution in research and innovation, he was awarded the most promising innovation award in 2002. The potential value of Artowood® and its impact on the environment was recognised by the government of Thailand. In 2006, supported by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank), and the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Artowood® was launched into the building material industry.
The mission of Artowood® is to reduced the global consumption of natural wood using synthetic wood to replace and substitute natural solid wood as a building material. Wood is a recycleable and renewable resource where man can plant and replant again unlike cement and metal based materials. Yet over-consumption results in vanishing tropical rainforests and contributed enormously to global warming.
